Gasoline

John Tory gets the war he wanted. He has been in Caledonia so much recently it's almost a second home. Will he resume his soapbox on mainstreet, to fiddle while it burns?

One way to register one's opposition to a long and expensive Ipperwash Inquiry: Refuse to learn anything.

And o’er the past Oblivion stretch her wing.

So....the Ontario Govt does nothing from February on, more violence erupts, and more will erupt and this is John Tory's fault?? Amazing. I hope Mcguinty isnt dumb enough to try that little nugget with the press..."I've done little to nothing to help this situation in the hope it would solve itself...and the violence is all John Tory's fault"...freakin priceless.

Negotiating means less violence and a chance to resolve something. Removing legitimate protesters by force means more violence. Does that amaze you? Is that surprising? Hard to understand? Does that necessitate double question marks?? You are easily overcome, friend.

The biggest mistake that was ever made in Ipperwash was bringing in the hoards of SWAT police members.

I grew up right near Ipperwash and I remember hearing younger kids fear that a war was going to break out because military vehicles were being brought into the fair grounds in Forest, Ontario under the cover of darkness. The police would scream across rural roads in the middle of the night with their cruisers, racing around the area scaring the bejesus out of everyone in the area.

At the time, as a local, it was hard to understand the native's motives but the OPP and the government did little to provide comfort to locals.

I was in the region at the time too, and I remember it as you do.

John Tory is the "opportunist". He pops out everywhere objecting to anything and everything. This is his campaign strategy?

Interesting: I watched Jim Prentice interviewed on the Caledonia issue yesterday. The interviewer told him what John Tory had said. Prentice disagreed with Tory and agreed with McGuinty and the negotiators. Perhaps Tory should consult with Prentice before he opens his "big yap".

He is an annoying little twirp. Well, what can you expect from John Tory - he was the one who authorized the nasty ad about Chretien's face (paralysis) that was the downfall of Kim Campbell.

Negotiations have been ongoing since 1992. I don't see them working, do you?
