battling the Blues on all fronts

The CFL kicks off tonight, and you have to love that new season feeling.

Tomorrow, one might spot me at the Rogers Centre, in my Black-and-Gold, teaching Torontonians how to be football fans.

But there is more than just football at stake. Pinball Clemons has been a quiet proponent of John Tory ever since he entered the political game. In fact, Tory wants to press Clemons into service perhaps even as a candidate. His easy smile will play well in the grand "red tory" deception that is to be the 2007 election.

Enter the Ti-Cats. Born of that great steel bastion of social conscience nestled under the mountain, they are not to be deceived by this mock-moderation.

Make no mistake: a victory for the Ti-Cats is a victory for progressive Canada.

I didn't know that stuff about Pinball...too bad, I kinda liked the guy. Too bad he might be jumping into bed with PC's. I guess they're hoping for a Toronto seat.

I've always considered progressive Canada's team to be the Roughriders. It's a little known fact, but Tommy Douglas played line-back for them in '22 while still at Theological College. He was decent at plugging running lanes, but quit the team when the others joined the Worker's Unity League, a CPC-front organization. Boy howdy, those were the days to be throwing the pigskin!

I am dissapointed about Pinball if that's the case I hadn't heard it.

But Toronto is a glorious progressive city. Let us look no further than its enormous contribution to the current leadership race, with Michael Ignatieff, Caryolyn Bennet, et al. As well as great Toronto liberals like Bill Graham. But most importantly, the great Lester B. Pearson.

And so, a Toronto loss is an attack on the memory of Pearson, and by logical extension, Canada's very social fabric.

ha ha ha.
